John J. Tennier established Tennier Manufacturing Company in Hamilton in 1940, specializing in the production of cleaning products and sweeping compounds. Over the following 35 years, the Tenniers developed the foremost supplier of cleaning supplies in Southern Ontario, furnishing janitorial and sanitation supplies and machinery to prominent businesses, stores, and manufacturing facilities in the region. Nearly 80 years later, Tennier remains synonymous with commercial, industrial, and manufacturing cleaning solutions.
