The DZNE focuses on the study of neurodegenerative disorders in all their aspects. To encompass this variety, the DZNE adopts an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses five interconnected focal points: fundamental research, clinical research, health services research, population research, and systems medicine. In alignment with this agenda, DZNE researchers collaborate across different disciplines and locations to enable rapid application of new findings - ultimately benefiting patients and their families. This connection between research and practical application is referred to as 'translation'.
